What Is A Pregnancy Sign That Could Mean You Have Finally Fallen Pregnant?

by Sheryl Masson

Waiting to find out if you are pregnant is such a frustrating time and although it is only a couple of weeks it seems to take forever. It is very easy to become impatient during that time that you are waiting to take the test to know if you have become pregnant or not.

There are some signs that you could look out for that may be an indication that you are pregnant. Let’s take a look at some of those pregnancy symptoms.

Feeling lightheaded or dizzy – this might happen if you have been on your feet for a long period of time then you might just suddenly feel a bit dizzy and need to sit down. This was the symptom that made me realise that I could be pregnant with my third baby as I wasn’t trying to get pregnant at the time, but when I started feeling lightheaded when I was on my feet for a while I started to suspect that I might be pregnant. Sure enough, a pregnancy test soon confirmed that I was.

Morning sickness and/or nausea – this is quite a common sign and morning sickness does not necessarily happen only in the mornings. Some poor women suffer from sickness all day and although it usually only occurs for the first trimester, with some women it can continue throughout the whole pregnancy. Some women may only feel nausea rather than actually vomit, but once again it can last all day and even the entire pregnancy.

Late period – if your menstrual periods are regular then if you are a couple of days late this could be an indication that you could be pregnant. If you do not have regular periods or have just stopped taking the pill then this may not be a sign of being pregnant.

Sore or tender breasts – breast size will usually increase throughout pregnancy but sore or tender breasts can happen quite early on in the pregnancy. This is often one of the earlier tell tale signs of being pregnant.

Frequent urination – the need to go to the toilet more often is another pregnancy sign that can begin quite early on in the pregnancy so if you notice the need to urinate frequently then this may be an indication that you might be pregnant.

Mood swings – mood swings and irritability can also be a symptom that you are pregnant as the changing of hormones occuring in your body are enough to send any woman into an irritable mood.

Pregnancy spotting – it is very common to have some spotting at the time when your period would usually have occurred. You will notice that it is much lighter than a normal menstrual period and is usually just some breakthrough spotting or an implantation bleed. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about unless the bleeding continues for a number of days then you might want to visit your doctor.

These are the main pregnancy signs but not all women will suffer from them. You may have just some of these symptoms or all of the symptoms. If you have any pregnancy sign at all and suspect that you might be pregnant, then I recommend visiting your GP soon to find out for sure whether you are pregnant or not.

I wish you luck and hope that you have a healthy pregnancy and a beautiful, healthy baby to share your life with.
